Who is subject to God?

Although the Bible is referred to as having an Old Testament and  a New Testament, it is in reality 66 different books, written by the Holy Spirit, using 39 human scribes, over a period of  1,500 years: combined, it is the complete message from God to man. There is other information available, but all of the essentials, that God wants to make sure we know, are covered in the Bible. There is no Old Gospel (good news).  The Gospel begins at Genesis 1:1 and ends at Revelation 22:21. All of God's covenants are for "longer than forever".  "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."[1] There is no greater, or truer, explanation than that. God made everything we know about, and a great deal more that we don't know about.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His Righteousness. We are to be seeking two things at the same time, which turn out essentially to be the same thing. We are to be seeking to be more like Christ. How do we seek His kingdom? Before Jesus came as our Messiah, you had to live a life of striving to live up to all of God's rules and regulations. Because no one was able to fully live up to that standard, the Father sent His Son, Jesus, to cover our inability to comply. This also made God's judgment easier. No longer did God have to judge each person on their individual efforts to live up to His Righteousness, because He had provided a way for anyone who would except it, a way to avoid the punishment for sin. Jesus provided the new standard of acceptance or rejection. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and your eternity in Heaven is assured. Reject the calling of the Holy Spirit, to accept what Jesus has provided, and you are on your own. Repentance is the price of righteousness. If you are not willing to humble yourself, and ask for forgiveness, no righteousness, paid for by Christ, will be provided.

75 to 78 % of the American public claim to be "Christian". There are many people, such as myself, who try to let them know what a biblical Christian is. Apparently more than half of those "Christians" are not Born Again; the life changing experience and commitment that Jesus and the apostles describe in the Bible. I don't want to insult anyone who call themselves Christian; however, if you are not sure whether you have had the required experience, perhaps you should be delving into God's Word to find out what is required. If you have the mindset that you don't need salvation because you haven't done anything wrong - you really need to consider where you will be located after you pass from this life into the next.

"It is interesting that the apostate church makes Jesus angry, while the indifferent church makes Him sick."[2] Throughout the New Testament, Jesus and the apostles warn us to watch out for false teachers, false prophets and anyone who would alter the Word of God. "According to Revelation 2, vv. 6 and 15, they (the Nicolaitans) were known in the cities of Ephesus and Pergamum. In this chapter, the church at Ephesus is commended for "hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I (Jesus) also hate" and the church in Pergamos is blamed "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans""[3] In Revelation 3:16 Jesus said: "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth".

The education system in the United States is a dismal failure. As technology grows, wisdom seems to decrease. Ask a student at Harvard questions about Bible content, and you get a variety of hems and haws. This is in a university that was established to educate people to be pastors and missionaries. In the past, people who graduated from high school could read, write and were comfortable with basic math. The McDonalds chain complains that today we are graduating students who can't even make change for customers, without the use of computers.  It used to be said that the first two years of college were the most important, because that was where you learned the basics of research and study. The second two years, and beyond, were for more specialized studies. It used to be that high school gave you the essentials you needed to function in life, the first two years of college gave you the ability to enhance your life, and any further study was for enabling you to specialize in a community of those who are interested in the same areas as yours. The problem is that you can't buy wisdom. You can buy education in all kinds of fields of study, but wisdom is something that your have to develop on your own, based on your world view and values. Wisdom is the ability to learn how to deal with life's problems in an orderly and logical fashion, and also allows you to set up priorities in your life that will limit the number of bumps and valleys most people experience. There is a second way to attain wisdom. The Word of God, in James 1:5, says: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men generously, and without finding fault; and it shall be given him."[4]
Since God is perfect, He cannot stand for imperfection. If you have transgressed the law, even in the smallest way, you have transgressed the whole of the law. Sin is the word God uses to describe any imperfection that is a wedge, which separates us from Him.

"Give any person you know, a copy of President Kennedy's inaugural address, without the author's name, and ask if the author was a liberal or conservative."[5] In today's world, President Kennedy would be considered a conservative, but in the sixties he was considered a liberal.. The liberals have been taken over by the conservatives, and the old liberals have been taken over by the far left (progressives). I wrote a paper, some time ago, which presents the question: "Where Have All The Liberals Gone"[6]. This paper describes what has happened politically, in the United States, in the last 60 years.

If I break into your house, without being invited, while you are having dinner, sit down at the table and say "I am going to take some of your food", you would and should be upset. If I fail to go through proper channels and sneak into your country, demand part of your economy, and live off the grid, you should also be upset. Illegal aliens not only are a drain on the economy, both nationally and individually, they are taking up a space or delaying the acceptance of someone else who is participating in the correct road to citizenship. The Bible tells us to take care of the stranger (non citizen) among us, but it does not say that we should support, in any way, a law breaker in our midst. It tells us to treat the stranger by, and make them subject to, the same laws to which our citizens are subject.

As can be plainly seen, if there is a God; it is He that has made us, and not we ourselves. If it is true that God made us, nurtures us, watches over us and loves us, we have an obligation to be subject to Him and His Word. If, on the other hand, there is no God, then it's Katy bar the door. With no Devine basis for establishing right and wrong, it is up to the individual to determine the limits. Anarchy would be the order, or disorder, of the day. There would be no reason for trust in your fellow man, no reason to work to build anything, because there is nothing to stop someone from taking what is yours and nothing to keep you from taking something belonging to someone else. We would be no better than the animals which is the way some people act anyway. If there truly was no God, then there would be no hope.  If there is no God then when we die, we are gone forever, an all we leave is a greasy spot on the earth. God designed the world to be in order; therefore it is a built in conclusion that we should be subject to Him.

"He gave us His Word, that we might know His will for us. He gave us His Son, so that we might be redeemed, and restored to a right relationship with Him. He gave us His Holy Spirit, to live within us, that we may be led by Him. It is His desire that we accept His plan for our Salvation, that we may spend all eternity with Him. God does not wish anyone to perish, but that all would come to His saving Grace[7]. He is a gentleman and does not force His will on anyone. He leaves the final choice up to us."[8]

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all."[9] "The grace (blessing and favor) of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)be with all the saints (God’s holy people, those set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively His). Amen (so let it be)!"[10]
